“Museum Island”

In 1999 the Museum Island in berlin, as a complex of museums, at first has became listed as a UNESCO-World-Cultural Heritage Site. With its five institutions (Altes Museum, Neues Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie, Bode-Museum and Pergamonmuseum) the Museum Island forms an incomparable ensemble of cultural history. In 2009 the “Neues Museum” reopend after years of recontruction bringing back Nofretete and the egyptian collection to the Museum Island.

The worldwide known attraction in the Pergamonmuseum is the Pergamon Altar (circa 170 BC).  Know more about the five different buildings in our tour, the development of its  different collections of artworks, its history and architecture.
